What is U.S. Soccer?
The United States Soccer Federation (USSF), commonly referred to as “U.S. Soccer,” is the governing body of the sport of soccer in the United States. The federation is a full member of FIFA and governs American soccer at the international, professional, and amateur levels.
History of UPSL League: The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) occupies the 4th tier of the US Soccer pyramid, just below the three professional tiers. With a participant average age of 22.5 years, the UPSL fills and brings structure to the large gap between the youth and professional games.

Meet the Owner: Phenix Paul
About Coach Phenix
Coach Phenix Paul, Founder and Director of the Naples Captains Soccer Club was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti, where he grew up playing in the best youth soccer academy in the country. He started coaching soccer in 2017 in Naples Florida. Coach Phenix Paul is also currently the Head Coach of the Saint John Neumann Catholic High School girls varsity soccer team. In 2020 he started the Naples Captains Soccer Club as a training program to develop the talent of local kids. In summer 2023 by popular demand in the south west Florida community he launched the Naples Captains Soccer Club, Men's and Women's semi-professional/college-prep teams. In the spring of 2024 he began the Naples Captains Youth Soccer program to continue his work and support the future generations of soccer players.

Growing up in Brazil, I fell in love with the sport at a very young age.
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated player who is passionate about playing with my teammates and consistently working towards improvement.
I love the competitive aspect of the game as well as being part of the team. Soccer drives me to better myself physically and mentally, so I find it deeply rewarding.
I currently work closely with Coach Phenix providing team operations support including player administration, player onboarding, logistics, scheduling, and team communications.
My purpose with Naples Captains is to support Coach Phenix in establishing a club that promotes good sportsmanship, teamwork, self-confidence, professionalism, and fun for the players and their families through the game of soccer.
Women's Head Coach Nick Leon
I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, where my love for soccer began at a young age. I honed my skills and passion for the sport playing as a starting Center back/Defensive Midfielder for Club Atlético River Plate in Miami, a semi-professional team that served as a pathway for players to join the prestigious River Plate professional soccer team in Argentina.
My coaching journey started at the middle school level, where I led my team to second place finishes in two out of the three years I coached. This early success sparked a newfound passion for coaching and player development.
In addition to my coaching experience, I am a certified Personal Trainer and the founder of multiple fitness communities in South Florida, including Ave Bootcamp in Ave María, FL. This background in fitness and wellness allows me to bring a holistic approach to coaching, focusing on both physical and mental strength.
Currently, I serve as the head coach for Elizabeth Seton Catholic School and as an Assistant Coach for St. John Neumann High School. In these roles, I have the opportunity to mentor and empower young players, helping them develop their skills and love for the game.
I am dedicated to creating a positive and supportive environment for players to grow and succeed, while instilling a love for the beautiful game of soccer. I am excited to continue my coaching journey and help players reach their full potential on and off the field.
